Who Is Comelit?
Comelit Group SpA is an industrial company founded in 1956 in Milan, Italy. Just a single year later in 1957, they released the first “valve” Intercom known as the “Polyphony Uberlaut” which quickly made a name for them on the market. Further progression to their intercom systems technology and other forms of security hardware such as surveillance cameras continued to progress for them through 1977 when they grew large enough to become a limited company.
In 1980; the first video entry phone produced using molds for plastic known as the “Eurovision” was released in a crucial step for the future of intercom design. In 1996, their first branch abroad was opened in Lyon, France. In 2001; they further expanded with additional offices in Europe, including Belgium, the UK, and Holland branches before turning east to build a Chinese sales branch in Shanghai and representative offices around the globe in 2003.
In 2007; they set up the Comelit R&D company in Bergamo, Italy and designed the world’s first wireless system. By 2013; they were awarded the media center for the 2014 Winter Olympics games in Sochi, Russia.
