COVID-19 in Spring Texas
Active novel coronavirus (aka COVID-19) cases have risen to over 1 million worldwide.
In the Houston area, they’ve surpassed 1,000 people, primarily in the northwest quadrant of the city. One of the biggest neighborhoods in this part of Houston is Spring, Texas. That’s why today we’re giving you a COVID-19 Spring Texas update.
As the best Locksmith in Spring Texas, we’ll be talking about how the virus has been affecting the community at large. Guardian Safe & Lock always does our best to secure and protect our communities, even if just by informing you of what’s happening out there.
Staying Home In Spring Texas
Spring straddles the county line between Harris and Montgomery counties. This has placed it directly under 2 government safety orders; The “Stay Home, Work Safe” order issued by county judge Hidalgo in Harris county and the Stay-At-Home order issued by county judge Keough in Montgomery county.
What this means is that a lot of Spring, Tx residents are spending a lot more time at home. From employees labeled as ‘non-essential’ in this hour of emergency to their children who now do school work from home.
Spring ISD has recently gone as far as assigning Chromebook laptops to all high school seniors for what they are calling their “Empowered Learning At-Home 2.0” plan to enable the completion of school credits. Other secondary students will start this program as well on the week of April 13th, and elementary students will also be starting learning-from-home processes by other means.
These changes may be difficult for those facing boredom, unemployment, or emotional distress; but for the sake of everyone in the community, it is important to stay at home as much as possible and follow the declared orders. Unless you are in an emergency situation or part of an essential business to keep the country running, stay home and stay safe.
Spring Tx Gives Back
There are many other companies in the area besides Guardian Safe & Lock that are also classified as an essential business and are doing their best to help protect Spring and the rest of northwest Houston from the dangers of COVID-19. First and foremost are those in the medical field fighting on the frontlines against this virus. Our unending thanks to them should go without saying.
But there are others not directly in the “line of fire” so to speak that still are finding ways to help. Whitmeyer’s Distilling Co off 1960 and Hollister has shut down whiskey, gin, and vodka production to generate thousands of gallons of free hand sanitizer for local hospitals. Foxfire Candle Works is also donating make-at-home candle kits to first responders nominated by their community, and many restaurants and fast food locations are giving free meals to these modern-day heroes simply for showing up. It’s in every American’s DNA to help each other, despite the danger we may face collectively. Spring, Texas as a community is definitely proving that throughout this crisis.
