As the Tomball locksmith, Guardian Safe & Lock wanted to discuss our city in a little more detail by providing you with a Tomball COVID-19 update.

Tomball’s Locksmith Weighs In

Guardian Safe & Lock has been performing access control installation, security camera installation, and selling Houston safes out of our Tomball home for a decade this year, growing from a small-town operation to an established locksmith for the entirety of the greater Houston area. We’re proud members of the Tomball Chamber of Commerce for nearly 5 years and have done our best to be strong members of the Tomball community.

tomball locksmithAs of this time, Tomball is under a local disaster declaration in the face of COVID-19 until at least May 20th. This decree was put in place by our city council and can be extended at their discretion. While such orders keep our city safe and hopefully will flatten the curve, they’ve dealt a severe blow to local businesses and city social and cultural events.

Events Cancelled To Flatten The Curve

One of the town’s most notable springtime events is the German heritage festival, which unfortunately was canceled in the wake of the spreading virus. It was scheduled to take place from March 27th – 29th. The festival annually celebrates German heritage and culture in Tomball, which was primarily settled by German immigrants.

Other events that have been put on hold or canceled range from things like the “Rails & Tails Mudbug Festival” which was previously scheduled for May 2nd, to the graduation ceremonies of Tomball ISD that are now on indefinite hold.

Many of these events promote not just fun for locals, but tourism from neighboring areas that builds a strong part of Tomball’s local economic development. Without the influx of outside dollars, the city already hamstrung by stay-home order and emergency declarations may feel the pain of the Coronavirus for many years to come.
