For more than 50 years as of 2022, “Tomball Night” has been a local, community-driven event hosted by Tomball on behalf of families and citizens of our city. Whether you’re a fan of the fireworks, the parade, the deals, or the many other events offered as part of the night; there’s something for everyone at this nostalgic event! This year it’s no different, and with free admission everybody can enjoy the event. Tomball Night: Fun For The Whole Family
Tomball Night was supposed to hit 49 years of celebration in August of 2020, but like many events of the time it was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID-19 safety protocols and restrictions. While 2022 may not have been the original intended 50 year anniversary, Tomball is definitely making sure the motivation, energy, and attention is there as if it were. The City of Tomball and the Greater Tomball Area Chamber Of Commerce have spared no expense, and promise a night of live entertainment, kids activities, food, drinks, and a whole lot of great shopping deals.
The night begins at 5:00 PM with the following streets becoming closed to thru-traffic: The 100 block of Commerce Street, North Walnut St, South Walnut St., Market St ( in particular the 100, 200, and 300 blocks) and South Elm Street. Local businesses that are participating will keep their doors open and offer special deals, giveaways, and door prizes.
Vendor booths will be set up in the downtown area, as well as live entertainment. In addition; there will be mystery shoppers posted all around Tomball, offering a cash prize when questioned “Are you the mystery shopper?” The event also includes the Parade of Lights and Health & Wellness Expo detailed later in this article as well as the traditional fireworks display at 9:45pm!
The Health & Wellness Expo
A unique and somewhat more recent addition to Tomball Night is the Health & Wellness Expo. The goal of the expo is to increase awareness about the resources available in Tomball that promote healthy family lifestyles. This unique and interactive event is designed to inform and entertain parents and children alike about how best to keep healthy and active. At the time of release of this article sponsorship forms are no longer being accepted to be included on marketing materials; but sponsorship is still possible!
A very limited number of exhibitor tables are however at this time still available. Costing $130 for a standard 8’x6″ booth with side and back draping, two chairs, and one 6’ skirted table. Exhibitors are asked to describe the type of exhibition and level of interaction with Health Expo attendees, and are discouraged from offering anything other than healthy snacks. The Parade Of Lights
For 20 years, Tomball has celebrated Tomball night by lighting up main street with the Parade of Lights! The Parade of Lights will run east on Main Street (also known as FM 2920) from Baker Drive to the railroad tracks before turning left on Peach Street with a fireworks display following immediately after the parade at The Depot (located at the intersection of South Elm Street and Market Street).
Anyone looking to join as part of the festivities should be sure to turn in their entry form by July 25th, 2022 along with their $50 entry free. Attendance and parking for this event, much like the Health & Wellness Expo and Tomball Night itself, are free.
